For Paintings; I paint from life and photographs and love adding hidden messages to my compositions that only my customers would know.
Each sitting takes about 90 minutes and I like to create a relaxed and informal environment where you can feel comfortable and confident in contributing to the creation of your portrait.
At the first sitting, I will take photographs and make sketches and discuss with you the kind of painting that you may already have in mind.
Each portrait will be painted in oils on canvas and will take between 4 and 8 weeks to complete. Larger and more complex commissions will take longer and I am happy to discuss these details and give guidelines as to cost. Payments are paid in full upfront first and receipts are posted with your portrait. I will provide my bank details for you to pay electronically.
For paintings from photographs please provide as many photos as you can so I can create the best portrait for you. Also tell me a little bit about them too; so I can imagine the personality of your pet or the person whilst I'm creating their image and also remember to include images of personal objects; for example their favourite toy or something that has special meaning to them or you. Call me anytime to talk about ideas you are very welcome.
Prices do not include travel and accommodation costs for sittings away from my studio.
Postage is charged separately.
Prices can vary according to size, amount of sitters, and complexity of background. As a guide, prices range from £1800 for frame sizes 100 x 100 cm, £1400 for frames around 70 x 90 cm or 80 x 100 cm, £1250 for around 40 x 50 cm, and £900 for all portraits around 25 x 30 cm. Have a look at the portraits I've already done to help you visualise your painting. All prices are for the painted canvas only. Picture framing is not included. However if you choose not to frame the painting yourself I am very happy to organise that for you, we can discuss what frame you'd like when we discuss your portrait. Payment for picture framing must be paid for before your portrait is delivered
Prices are the same for pet portraits
Postage is through DHL or Royal Mail and prices are dependent on size/weight and distance and I will be able to tell you the postage costs when we talk. All packaging will involve secure boarding, boxing, bubble wrapping and labelling your painting

For Painted furniture commissions please email or call me to discuss what you have in mind. I can either outsource the particular piece of furniture for you, or I can create a work of art on an existing piece you already own.
