Olvera sits dramatically on a hill in the Grazalemas mountains of Andalucia with a Moorish fort and Christian Baroque church commanding the surrounding landscape. This chaotic white washed pueblo blanco spills down from its ancient top like a volcano. This painting shows Olvera from its quiet side and was created from sketches, photos and observations over several days seen from our house in our olive groves.
